We operate a store collection service please order & pay online, this service is completely FREE of any delivery charges when goods are collected in-store. To find for your nearest store click Here

Please Note: We offer same day collection for items in-stock however please allow 3-5 days for items which are out of stock at nominated store.

Home Delivery Options:

For our Next working day delivery option, orders must be placed on website before 12 noon (same day dispatch for orders placed before 12 noon – Monday to Friday). Please allow 2 additional days for some rural/remote locations. Check postcode checker below to see if your postcode qualifies for next working day delivery.

Products that Cannot be Delivered

There are a small range of products that cannot be delivered to your home due to legal restrictions or size/weight issues, although they can be purchased online, they must be collected from the local strore of your choice

We deliver to areas A, B and C the UK Mainland including Scottish Highlands with no surcharges see map below. Unfortunately at present we cannot deliver to areas D and E which includes the Channel Islands, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, Orkney, Shetland and Scottish Islands, BFPO addresses, Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

Q: Do I have to be at home for my delivery ?
A: All deliveries require a signature to ensure you receive properly however you can change delivery address to a relative/friend/neighbour or even your work address.

Q: What if delivery was attempted when I wasn’t at home?
A: Our courier will leave a card stating whether your parcel will be redelivered or will be taken to your local Collection Point for collection.

Order Returns/Cancellation:

Q: Can I cancel my order?
A: If you request to cancel your order before we have shipped we will issue a full refund to card used for purchase. If you wish to cancel after order has been dispatched you have 14 days to return to ourselves for a full refund assuming the product is unused and in original packaging.

Q: What if I receive a faulty item?
A: Please contact us as soon as possible after delivery and we will arrange to collect and either refund or replace as requested. Our contact number and email are available on this page.

Q: What if my product develops a fault during the warranty period?
A: All products we sell come with a 1 year/12 months warranty with ourselves if your product develops a fault during this period then please contact us to arrange a collection and replacement of faulty item.

Ordering Online

  1. Find products using Search or Menus or Departments on our Home Page.
  2. When you find an item you wish to buy click ‘Add to Basket’.
  3. When you have finished shopping click ‘View Basket’ and your selections will be displayed.
  4. After you have verified your order is correct click, ‘Check Out’.
  5. Enter your Unique Account Details or Sign up for a new account if this is your first shopping visit.
  6. Please be aware our site uses – 3D Secure card processing – for fraud prevention so will verify payment with your bank so please have your password to hand.
  7. Click continue then confirm placement of your order. You will receive notification by email that your order has been received.
  8. We then send you a Order Processing email then a Order Dispatched email.
  9. Our courier also sends an email confirming delivery.


Cancellation Policy:

This policy only applies to purchases made via our company website

In line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have the right to cancel your order within 14 working day(s) from the day after receipt of your goods. The goods must be returned in their original condition ( i.e. in their original packaging and unused) for a full refund including the original delivery charge.

Please contact us at to advise of your decision to cancel so we can expect the returned goods.

 Please be aware that you will be responsible for the cost of returning the goods and ensuring the goods are correctly packaged to avoid any damage/loss while in transit. On receipt we will inspect the goods (we will contact you if goods are damaged or not in original condition) assuming all is correct we will arrange for a refund to be processed.

We will issue your refund as soon as possible, in any case within fourteen (14) days of receipt of goods, any refund will be by the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase. Please note we are unable to offer a refund for goods not received or received either damaged or incomplete, our cancellation policy does not affect your statutory rights. 

Returns Policy: (Damaged or Faulty Goods)

While every effort is made to ensure that goods reach you in perfect condition, on occasion faulty or damaged goods may need to be returned for a replacement or a full refund. We will endeavour to replace any item that is deemed faulty in the first instance. In most cases we can offer a like for like replacement, however if the item being returned is no longer in stock or no longer manufactured and available from our suppliers we will refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.

Please note that we are unable to offer a refund or replacement on items that have been damaged through wrongful or inappropriate use, not following instructions or normal wear and tear.

You have 7 working days from delivery to return any items which have arrived faulty or damaged. We ask that you contact us immediately regarding any faulty or damaged items to arrange their return.

Return enquiries MUST be made via email in the first instance to ensure that your return is dealt with swiftly.

Our returns dept will then contact you to arrange uplift of damaged or faulty goods. Please ensure that all items are properly packaged using the original packaging the goods were shipped in ready for our courier to collect.

Please note that we will not accept delivery returns on any items or products that have not been authorised by our returns dept.

Upon satisfying that goods are faulty or damaged we will endeavour to replace the faulty or damaged goods. If a replacement product cannot be issued then Home Hardware Direct will issue a full refund using the same method of payment used to purchase the item.

Should goods arrive damaged in transit and the damage is apparent, we ask that you note this on the delivery note. Please notify us immediately via email so that we can arrange return and a replacement or refund will be issued. Please note that all such items for return must be accompanied by the original packaging.

For reasons other than the product is defective we will examine the returned product and will notify you of your refund if deemed appropriate following examination of the returned item via e-mail, telephone or other appropriate means within a reasonable period of time. We will usually process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, in any case, within 30 days of the day we confirmed to you via e-mail that you were entitled to a refund for the defective product. Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full, including a refund of the delivery charges for sending the item to you.

Waste Portable Batteries Scheme

Under the Waste Battery Regulations – Home Hardware Direct are now offering a take back scheme for all portable waste batteries:

You can return your waste batteries to – HOME HARDWARE DIRECT or any of our STORES in person (Please do not post).

Alternatively, you can find your local waste portable battery recycling facility at
Most shops and supermarkets that sell batteries will have collection bins for used batteries, and some town halls, libraries or schools may also set up collection points.
End-users may find stores in their local area more accessible.

WEEE - Electrical Recycle Scheme

You can now recycle your old electricals with us.

If you’re buying a new electrical item, we will recycle your old one for free.

Why recycle?
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste.

Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment.  If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

We can help
We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items.

We provide a scheme where customers who purchase any electrical equipment from our website can return their old equipment on a like-for-like basis directly to HOME HARDWARE DIRECT or any of our STORES within 28 days of purchase.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.

What is WEEE?
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of these items.  In the UK, distributors (including retailers) must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge. 

Those establishing their own take-back scheme must as a minimum offer all customers buying new electrical equipment free take back of their old electricals on a like-for-like basis.

COVID - 19

We are currently following all Government guidelines regarding the COVID.19  outbreak and employing many safety practices to protect both our staff and customers alike. We are still delivering at this time but have had to withdraw our Next Day option until further notice due to the unprecedented increase in demand on our delivery service. We have also had to restrict some products to store collect only as our packaging supplier has closed until further notice and we are unable to pack safely. We will keep this post updated with any further news as it happens, finally we appreciate your patience with phone calls and emails as staff shortages means there is a backlog which will be dealt with as soon as staffing returns to normal. 

 We are doing all we can given the current situation to maintain our excellent customer service and fast delivery. With limited staff and being inundated with orders our courier cannot handle the quantities that we are shipping which is causing a bottle neck, this is increasing our delivery time. We aim for customers to receive their order between 3-5 days. Please be patient your order WILL be processed and dispatched.
